DEDOT HY-WYD SPORT & SHOOTING GLASSES
NOW AVAILABLE AT SOUTH JERSEY EYE ASSOCIATES
Just In Time for Hunting Season, SJEA Offers High Performance Eyewear
for the Well-equipped Sportsman

Bridgeton, NJ (October, 2009) – The Optical Department at South Jersey Eye Associates (SJEA) is pleased to now offer Decot Hy-Wyd Sport and Shooting Glasses just in time for the fall hunting season.

Decot describes their eyewear as “the best hunting and shooting glasses under the sun” and their product unquestionably ranks among the finest sport-specific eyewear around. For over 50 years, the company has specialized in creating products that address the concerns of hunters and sportsmen, namely safety and optimizing performance.

“Decot offers a huge variety of options when it comes to both frames and lenses,” says Jim Whitfield, SJEA’s Optical Manager. “If you hunt, shoot competitively, fish, or play golf, chances are Decot makes a product that’s right for you.”

Decot frames are lightweight, stable, provide for a broad field of vision, and can be fitted with interchangeable lenses. Decot offers prescription and non-prescription lenses, all with UVA and UVB protection, in a wide variety of colors and shades to accommodate for differing light conditions and individual light sensitivity. Anti-Reflective coating, HI-Index, Transition, and Polarized lenses are also available.

“Decot glasses are made for sportsmen by sportsmen,” says optometric physician and SJEA partner Dr. Robert M. Cole. “A lot of people don’t realize the kind of difference eyewear that’s specifically geared to your sport can make. If you’re choosey about your gun, golf clubs or fishing rod, you owe to yourself to be just as choosey about your glasses.”

Adds Dr. Michael A. Feinstein, partner and optometric physician, “It’s hard to overstate how crucial the right eyewear is for any outdoor activity – particularly when issues of safety come into play.”

Jim Whitfield acknowledges that Decot offers so many possible combinations of frames and lenses that it can prove a little bit intimidating for the layman. “The staff at SJEA’s optical department is always ready to lend their expertise. We can guide you through the choices and help you find the perfect set of glasses for what you do.”

COLE, FEINSTEIN SEE EYE TO EYE

Bridgeton News, (Friday, October 12, 2007) – UPPER DEERFIELD TWP. –
Dr. Bob Cole first opened his optometry practice in 1974. In 1980, Dr. Michael Feinstein opened his own practice. In 1997, the pair decided to join forces and open South Jersey Eye Associates. On Oct. 18, they will be given a Bridgeton Area Chamber of Commerce award for their dedication to their customers and community.

"We merged practices 10 years ago, on Oct. 1," Feinstein remarked recently. "So it's kind of a coincidence that we're receiving this award on our 10-year anniversary. It's extremely flattering."

With their combined practice now located in the medical center on Old Deerfield Pike, both men said the decision to merge was an easy one to make. "We had talked about it for years, off and on," Feinstein explained. "When you do the things we do, and have the equipment we have, there is a lot of stuff you can share, and it makes it so you can afford better equipment." He said both men also shared similar philosophies, and would often cover for each other when vacation time came around. "We practiced in the same town, but we looked at each other as colleagues," Cole explained. "We never really looked at each other as competitors."

Both men said patient interaction is their main draw to optometry, along with the challenge of facing a new problem each day. "I literally wake up every morning looking forward to going to work," Cole said. "My day consists of improving someone's vision. There is always an immediate reward for that."

South Jersey Eye Associates specializes in a number of areas, from contacts to cataracts, and everything in between. "We try to cover as much territory as we can," Feinstein explained. "We do the usual things, like fixing visual problems with glasses and contacts, but we also have a surgeon in our practice who does the more complicated things, like cataract surgeries."

When they heard they had received a BACC award, Cole and Feinstein said they were both surprised, at first. "It kind of hit us out of the blue," Feinstein said. "Everyone being honored is someone I've known for many years, and it really hasn't sunk in yet. It wasn't like it was an election we were running in." Despite the surprise, the men said they appreciate the fact that they are receiving the award, thanks to votes from their peers.

"One of the main things (we appreciate) is that we are being recognized by our peers," Cole said. "It's selected by a peer vote. That's the nicest thing. To be recognized within your community by other professionals."
