An SJEA employee since 1999, some of Joyce's many duties as a paraoptometric assistant include performing refractometry, visual field screening, contact lens fittings, and retinal photography and tomography. She is also trained in 3D wavefront measurement and mapping and the use of the Epic 2100 Vision Diagnostic System.

Joyce is a member of the American Optometric Association.
